Solar Challenge 2008

The second  edition of the Frisian  Solar Challenge has taken place a while ago. And we can look back at it with a good feeling.

Six days long, from June 22th till June 29th 2008 the teams were intently and they put up a fight to become the winner. Already a few days before the kick-off teams and organization were busy with skill competitions, swimming tests and qualification sprints.

Extra prices:

Fairplay price Van Hall Larenstein/AOC  from Leeuwarden They helped other teams several times and they have also saved a skipper out of the water.
Innovation price Het Teylingen College from Voorhout They discovered a new method with ‘klunen’. (Walking with the solar boat on the shore.)
Consolation price
Copacabana from Brasil They have shown great courage to enter this project, and they stayed positive despite the immersion after the prologue.   
Bad luck price het Imperial College from London With the finish of Leeuwarden in sight, they had to give up because of technical problems.
